THE FARMER FEEDBACK PROGRAM
WHAT’S THE FARMER FEEDBACK REPORT?
In this one-of-a-kind program, we prepare a special “Farmer Feedback report” at the end of every month, sharing information about the coffees we roast with the farmers who grew it.We send info like how we roasted it, what countries it was shipped to around the world, how we priced it, and most importantly, what our customers thought about it. Your tasting notes, ratings, and special messages to the coffee growers will be collated into this report and sent to them, along with a few bags of roasted coffee.
Here’s a chance to thank your coffee producers, and share your feedback directly with them!
TWO-WAY TRANSPARENCY
Coffee roasters ask a lot from the farmers we buy coffee from - from detailed farm information (such as altitude and varietals), their sustainable practices, personal history with coffee, to pictures of them on their farms or at their mills. We do this to make sure that we feel good about buying from them, and also to be able to share all of the information we get with our customers - so you can feel good about buying coffee from us.
But we believe that transparency should go both ways. There is a fundamental inequity in how coffee growers are not proportionally compensated for their labor.
WHY YOUR REVIEW IS IMPORTANT
We hope to share information in the Farmer Feedback report that can lead to more equity in the future - and your feedback is a vital part of that. There are no wrong answers - every review brings the farmers closer to understanding how their product is perceived and appreciated by the final, end consumer. We don’t know of any other coffee roasters engaging with this kind of radical, two-way transparency.
SEE FOR YOURSELF!
Check out a Farmer Feedback report and review everything that the farmer does. We expect these reports to be fluid and ever evolving, especially based on feedback from farmers and importers.
