Cold coffee, 2 ways - Cold brew + Iced coffee
Learn to taste coffee the expert way with a custom coffee tasting kit!
What participants do
When ordering a cold coffee at a cafe, you usually don’t get a choice: they either serve cold brew or iced coffee. So, what’s the difference? When you join one of Driftaway’s coffee educators for this 60 minute online class, you’ll learn this and so much more! You’ll learn how to make an iced flash-brew Aeropress or pour over, and then taste it right next to the cold brew you steeped the night before (brewed 16 hours before the class). It’s a truly illuminating and fun way to gain an increased understanding of how cold coffee can taste when brewed slowly versus quickly.
Cold brew has a reputation for being milder and sweeter, with less perceived acidity and bitterness, while flash-brewed iced coffee has more nuance and tastes closer to the flavors you’d get from a hot coffee. Similar to wine or beer, all coffee has specific characteristics that anyone can learn to identify, so this half coffee-making, half coffee-tasting class is an equally exciting gift for those who love coffee or those who are coffee-curious - and it’s especially ideal to share with a team or with prospects.
You’ll be working with the Cold Brew Kit, the Coffee Explorer Box, and either the Aeropress or Pour Over Kit that come with the purchase of this class. The coffee bags aren’t labeled with origin info or tasting notes, so you’re able to enjoy the sensory experience without distraction. At the very end is the Big Reveal, when your educator shares the origin and profile of each coffee, and you find out how closely your own experience matches Driftaway’s. You’ll leave this class appreciating coffee in a whole new way, with the know-how to confidently brew coffee that will make every sip more enjoyable than ever.
