Our sourcing policy is to strive to maintain as much traceability to the farmer as possible, and we try to support small farmers as much as we can.​

We do have some Fair Trade coffees some times however our current selection does not include any Fair Trade or Organic beans. We've written about FT, organic and similar certifications on our blog Our Take on Fair Trade and while we try our best to get FT-certified coffees, we don't always think a certification is always possible for many of the smaller farmers we source from.

Our policy is to always work with importers that we know pay fair prices to the producers and farmers directly. We would love to source directly however we're currently not at a scale to be able to.

The main difference between a Gift subscription and a Prepaid subscription is that the gift has a voucher. Though both subscriptions are for a pre-determined amount of time, the gift subscription starts whenever the voucher is redeemed. When a gift recipient redeems their voucher, they set up an account for themselves with their email and address.

Another difference is that Prepaid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of the term once they are completed. Gift subscriptions do not renew.

Finally, prepaid subscriptions are set up for half a year (26 weeks) rather than 6 months whereas Gift subscriptions are set up for 6 months, assuming 4 weeks every month (24 weeks).

To summarize, if you are buying for yourself and ready to commit for 6 months, get a Prepaid subscription and if you are buying for someone else, get a Gift subscription.

None of our coffees are flavored. They are 100% pure coffee only. The tasting notes are descriptions of naturally-occurring tastes in the coffees.

If you want you can add sweeteners, dairy/non-dairy products or even some spices like cinnamon to the coffee.

Sorry, we don't have the capability yet to let you know exactly what we are shipping before it ships, though we are working on that!

However, we will only ship you a coffee from the profiles you liked in your Taste Profile. And you can see the four coffees that we are roasting currently listed at whole bean coffee.

You can also request a specific one for any delivery from our coffees page. We do need to receive the request by 7 pm EST on Thursday so we can plan for it.

No, only the Tasting Kit (1st delivery) has 5 bags. All subsequent orders will be whichever size coffee is on your plan.

To cancel your account go to My Account and choose Cancel Subscription.

When filling out the form please be descriptive about what why you want to cancel. It helps us with our metrics and gives us tips on how to improve!

Prepaid plans can be canceled and refunded (pro-rated for # of deliveries shipped) within the first 30 days from purchase or renewal. After that, there's no refund but you can disable automatic renewals for prepaid plans from your account.
