Coffee Gifts for Mother’s Day Under $50

For people whose moms like coffee, finding the perfect Mother’s Day gift is easy. There’s a lot of coffee gear that would make a great present, including many items that are quite affordable. If you’re searching for a present to give Mom this May, here are five coffee-related gifts under $50.

A Coffee Bag Purse

As the specialty coffee industry grows, artists are finding creative ways to repurpose the sacks that coffee comes in. On Etsy, a number of people offer purses made out of coffee sacks, with prices starting around $22.00. We especially like these options from Mountain Momma Designs and Sew In Shambles.

A Wooden Coffee Scoop and Bag Clip

While we generally recommend weighing coffee grounds rather than measuring them by volume, we recognize that not everyone does this. For Moms who simply scoop out their grounds in the morning, there’s this wooden coffee scoop and bag clip. It combines a scoop and bag clip into one practical utensil, and it’s wood so it doesn’t look as modern as some other coffee scoops that are available. The scoop and bag clip is usually priced under $20.

A Chemex Manual Pour-Over

For moms who truly love coffee and want a pour-over, the Chemex is the way to go. While there are other great pour-overs, the Chemex is the one that Mom’s probably most familiar with. It was invented in 1941, likely making it older than Mom herself. This is also one of the few coffee makers that have been around for more than 75 years and is still widely popular. A 3-cup Chemex normally sells for less than $50. (Read our in-depth review of the Chemex here.)

A Travel French Press

For moms who want great coffee but are constantly on the go, a travel French press ($34.95) is a good solution. All she has to do is heat up water, put in grounds and secure the lid. A few minutes down the road she can press down the plunger and enjoy. Additionally, double-walled models will keep the coffee hot for a while, so there’s no reason to gulp it down before getting to the office.

A Coffee Subscription

A subscription for freshly roasted coffee is both a special treat and will help expand Mom’s understanding of coffee. Signing Mom up for a subscription will send her new coffees for several weeks or months.

At Driftaway Coffee, we offer monthly subscriptions starting at $39, which would give Mom the gift of freshly roasted coffee for three months. Send it to her before Mother’s Day.

Scott

Scott is a professional writer for Driftaway Coffee. He worked as a barista for eight years, but today prefers to enjoy his beverages from the other side of the counter. When not drinking Driftaway Coffee, Scott usually has a mug of his own roasted coffee nearby.
